Print this page, then color the drawing of Feliciana based on the information given in the text. The drawing was made by Tamra Fox under the guidance of descendant Martha Ann Francisca Vallejo-McGettigan, and is based on a photograph of Adelayda Rosario Vallejo (1837-1895). Adelayda's ancestor was the 25 year old widow of the expedition, Feliciana Arballo. During the Anza expedition, Feliciana probably carried her infant daughter, Marķa Eustaquia, in a rebozo as shown in the drawing on the left. For formal occasions, or in the cold, the rebozo could be used as shown in the drawing on the right.
